Writer – Playwright – Cannot Save You From The Robot Apocalypse

Another quick post because to quote Gen-Zers “it be like that sometimes.”

People seem to equate a lot of Victorian things as creepy. Maybe it’s because it’s a long time ago and therefore (very) old, maybe it’s because it was the time of Gothic novels where the only way people could entertain themselves was by telling ghost stories themselves or watching someone get hanged. Either way, people love to make the Victoria era horrifying.

It makes me wonder sometimes what will happen in the future with ghost stories, will they still be Victorian or will people be writing millennial horror with haunted computers and possessed iPods whose earphones choke you in your sleep (before they were wireless kids). Will it be scary because the technology is outdated or because we will have destroyed ourselves with technology? Or is horror reserved for Victorian times, with creepy dolls and ghostly women with long white dresses?
