Writer – Playwright – Cannot Save You From The Robot Apocalypse

By now dear readers you know what a “What’s Going On?” post details but for any newcomers, or if you just need a refresher, I’ll explain what it means. Basically, I couldn’t think of a topic to write about so instead of stressing myself out I’ve decided to write about what I did last week. Exciting huh? Sometimes it is, last week I’m not so sure. Let’s get writing and see what happens!

Sunday

I worked a short shift and had a fun time. Where I work Sunday shifts aren’t mandatory but something you can apply to work for extra hours. Since I don’t have a family of my own and won’t say no to extra money I work them, an extra four hour shift is no stress to me. I also worked on my NaNo project(which seems never ending) and a short story for a local literary festival contest. I also read more of Little Women, my current read, that I got for Christmas and am really enjoying!

Monday

I worked an evening shift, read, wrote more of my NaNo project and my short story for the contest. Yeah, that’s pretty much it.

Tuesday

A day off! I read more of Little Women, wrote more NaNo and submitted my short story for the contest. It was the first thing I’ve submitted this year so we’ll see what (if anything) comes from it. I also worked on a script for the playwriting unit I’m apart of and went on a short hike with one of my friends.

Wednesday

Back to work! I read more, wrote more including another script for a project I was asked to participate in that I’ve been slacking on. But it’s getting there!

Thursday

Work again (that working life) and more writing, NaNo project and my playwriting unit script. I also started rehearsals for the HamilTEN Festival where I’ll be playing one of the roles (AHH) so it was a very theatrical day in that aspect with all the scripts.

Friday

A busy day though I had a shorter morning shift which was nice. I wrote, relaxed the rest of the day, and in the evening my sister and I went to see Greta Gerwig’s Little Women (even though I haven’t finished the book yet!). It was such a good movie, I think Gerwig is such a talented director and am so upset she and other women director’s don’t get the same attention for their work as male directors.

Saturday

A day off work again! It was a rainy and grey day and my sister and I had already planned on going to a cafe in a town nearby and our dad joined us after his plans changed. It was nice to have the three of us all together having coffee, even though we all live in the same house we’re all so busy that we don’t always get to do things like this anymore so it’s nice when we can. We looked in a bookstore in the town after our lunch and then drove my sister to work for her evening shift. Afterwards I wrote more, NaNo obviously and came back to a short story I wrote months ago but have been stuck on the ending. I tweaked some things but I’m still stuck at the ending and am considering asking some of my friends for advice on where they think the story will go.

And that was my week! Looking back it really was boring, mostly writing which is something I enjoy and work, but some weeks are like that. Let’s see where this week takes us!
